ABSENTEE
APPLICATIONS
Absentee Voting
A person
who cannot be physically present to vote at the polls on
Election Day does
not lose their right to vote. By completing appropriate
forms, a voter may cast an
absentee ballot before Election Day. To vote absentee, a voter
must meet certain qualifications.
Qualification:
An otherwise qualified voter can cast an absentee ballot
in person in the office of the
Circuit Court Clerk or a satellite office without stating a
reason for doing so. Absentee
voting for the 2006 Primary Election will begin April 3, 2006
from 8:00 A.M. to
4:00 P.M. though Noon May 1, 2006. We will also
be open two Saturdays,
April 22, 2006 and April 29, 2006 from 8:00 A.M. to
3:00 P.M. for your convenience.
To vote absentee by mail or before a
traveling board, the Voter, by law (I.C.
3-11-4-18) may vote only if they meet the
following qualifications:
1) Absent from the County on Election Day during the entire
12 hours the polls are open..
2) Will be working at a precinct on Election Day.
3) Are confined because of an illness or injury on Election
Day.
4) Have disabilities.
5) An elderly voter (at least 65 years of age).
6) Are the caregiver of a confined individual.
7) Scheduled to work during the entire twelve (12) hours that
the polls are open.
8) Participate in the address confidentiality program.
9) Are prevented from voting due to observing a religious
discipline or holiday.

Primary Election day is the first Tuesday after first Monday in
May. In the Primary Election you vote only for the candidates of
one party, you are nominating the candidate who will be on the
ballot in the general election.
General Election day is the first Tuesday after the
first Monday in November. Candidate of both major political
parties will be and third party candidates will be listed on the
ballot.
Voting Requirements:
Indiana
polls are open from 6:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. If you have a
question about your polling site you may also call the Voter
Registration Office (456-2219).
